Bring your family to London for a weekend and see the sights! You may even be able to bring your family pet when you stay in our short stay family apartments in London!
There is so much for families to see and do in London that a long weekend in the capital is a great way to cover a lot of ground in a short period of time. Put on your walking shoes and enjoy what there is to see and do in one of the most exciting capitals of the world!
The London museums
London’s three main museums, The Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum, are all located in the same road. They offer a feast of activities for children of all ages with lots of hands-on exhibits. All located in the South Kensington area there are good accommodation options very close by. Would you like a bit more space with a luxury two bedroom, two bathroom short stay apartment? Or are you happy to all sleep in a large open plan studio? Whatever your budget you should be able to find something to suit you with easy access to this area.
If you are a sporty family then Stratford is a great place to stay. The Velodrome, Queen Elizabeth Park and many other facilities have made the area a mecca for sports lovers. Built around the Olympic Park which was constructed for the 2012 Olympic Games it is a thriving, bustling area. And shopping is good there too. Westfield at Stratford offers one of the biggest selections of shops under one roof in the whole of Europe! The excellent train network allows speedy access to central London. From here you can reach Oxford Street in a matter of just minutes.
And if you wish to make a family weekend stay out of a visit to a London football match there are some good accommodation options. Chelsea is based at Stamford Bridge. Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane. West Ham at Queen Elizabeth Park. And of course Wembley (just outside London on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines) is a great venue. Watford is also accessible via the tube. So if football is your thing, London is a great place to come and watch a match.

In Theatreland, particularly at Christmas, there are some lovely shows for children. You may like to bring your family to see a performance of spectacular The Lion King. Or one of the many vibrant, energetic musicals showing in the West End.
A number of the major London venues install ice skating rinks at Christmas. These are fun for children of all ages! And in the rest of the year, there is a permanent ice rink in Queensway.
You will find that the Southbank is a lovely place for families to wander. With buskers and street entertainment aplenty, you can also take the opportunity of a “flight” on the London Eye and see the skyline for miles around. Bring your camera and take back memories of your experiences.
Music
Many families descend on London to watch a concert or hear music. Again, Wembley is a major venue. In recent years Kew Gardens have become a popular venue for summer concerts.
And in Central London The Royal Albert Hall hosts the annual Promenade Concerts, or Proms as they are known. In Chelsea, the Cadogan Hall is a great place to hear classical concerts. And just off Trafalgar Square is the Coliseum, home to the English National Opera. In the corner of Trafalgar Square you will also find St Martin in the Fields where there is a year round programme of classical music. Some of the most delightful, atmospheric concerts here feature Mozart, among others, by candlelight.
And in the winter, no family Christmas stay in London is complete without a visit to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Lots of rides and stalls will fascinate you and your children for hours. There is a Bavarian village serving beer German in steins. And there are some pretty spectacular funfair rides including big dippers and a massive observation wheel. At night, Winter Wonderland is beautifully illuminated and visible for miles around. And there are many bookable shows and spectaculars available for visitors every day.
Restaurants
London boasts some of the best restaurants you can imagine. Enjoy exquisite cuisine from around the world. And afternoon tea is a “must do” when in London. Available in many of London’s top hotels, we recommend The Milestone in Kensington, Claridges and of course The Ritz.

Many of the residences offer extra options for guests including airport transfers, daily breakfast service, restaurant recommendations and theatre bookings. At others there are meeting room facilities.
For sporty guests, there are apartment residences with swimming pools and gyms. So there is no excuse for not keeping fit whilst you are enjoying a stay in London.
